Miya revolves around 3 simple objectives:
Help others
Help the environment
Help yourself |
| To enjoy a really great coffee that does not use pesticides or chemicals, and to help the 3rd world producer without impacting too heavily on the environment is something to be proud of. If you choose Miya coffee, you may not save the world today, but you'll be making a small difference with every cup. |

| The projects that Miya contributes to every year include reforestation projects in the Kibale National Park, wind turbines in India. However, what we are really proud of is the impact on a human level such as projects to install 'biomass' ovens in India that run on agricultural waste rather than fossil fuels. Additionally, the funding for new efficient smokeless stoves in Honduras that is run in collaboration through the innovative Micro-Enterprise Stove Project. |
| These are just some examples of the projects that we are proud to be associated with. |

Help the Environment.
Whether you believe in man made climate change or not, doing a little bit to lighten the pollution that we emit into the atmosphere cannot be a bad thing. |
| Miya coffee has undergone a remarkable journey to get here. A 5,500 mile trans-atlantic ocean journey being the longest. (We don’t use aeroplanes). |
| Just to make sure that we did not underestimate the transport involved, we tripled the distance and have offset 21,000 miles rather than the estimated 7,000. We did this because it felt good to do so and it means that you can be confident that every single mile that Miya has travelled has been well and truly offset. |

What does Carbon Offsetting mean.
A very trendy jargon or actual meaningful enterprise? Well, if you eat an unhealthy snack, is it better to then go to the gym. Those who hate gyms may say no, and others may say it is better not to eat the unhealthy snack in the first place. Good point on both counts – but surely going the gym is better than not doing anything at all. |
| Miya coffee revolves around the same principle. It may be better not to consume at all, but doing something about the pollution we put into the atmosphere is better than not doing anything at all. |
